Session 5 - Matuas
November 23rd, 2025 — Matuas
We joined an awesome boat race and showed the city that we are friendly, harmonious cohabitants. There were loads of people about and we had one of the coolest, most fashionable boats. The magic of the university stopped a magical attack, but we couldn’t find any culprits. At least Meera didn’t fall into the water…
The day of the masking ceremony drew closer and in that time I had been thinking a lot about my magical spirit. I think it shall take the form of an ant. Formidable in strength, even more so in unison. Incredibly hardy, defensive and communal. Also tasty…
I saw Faran had a mask like a hornet, makes my think of social, beasts, but very prickly once disturbed, funny that our masks are so alike…
Meera had a weird mask, I didn’t get it all to well: A wooden whole-face mask, as a perfect circle. The etching on it is of a yin-yang figure, rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise. The inner circles in the yin and yang parts are the eye-holes. The top part, originally black, in the form of a nature scene with trees and birds. The bottom part, originally white, in the form of geometric/alchemical/magical patterns. Guess it’s something to do with finding balance between the Primal and Arcane?
Of course, as is want to happen, in a ceremony we are attacked, and in familiar fashion, it has to be tasty bugs. We took quite good care of them, worked in unison and could have a little feast after the battle. Still, something bugs me about all these insect attacks, I guess those Gremlins have something to do with it. Talk about First World problems.
