Session 9: Snakes on our plane
May 1st, 2026 — Meera
The three new Anadi students are keeping themselves apart from the rest of the students, Takulu noticed. It turned out Okoro had invited them for his party, but they somehow surprised him and he had a panic attack, after which they didn’t feel safe to join anymore.
Matuas wants to help them out, so we’ll visit them this afternoon.
Snakes, snakes and more snakes. But let’s get back to the beginning. We visit the Anadi near the Hababe building, but then almost immediately get attacked by a very nasty clay statue. It’s not new on campus, but it is recently re-infused. The type of magic used for that was outside the bell curve of typical magic studied here, there is also not much of it in the background magic.
After that we figure out that the Anadi feel drawn specifically to this building. There is some noise behind a door to the storage areas of this building, and then we find out that the storage areas have become infested with nasty snakes: emperor cobra, snake-headed woman, more snakes and more serpentfolk. We clear out the storage area, and find out that they entered via a small tunnel leading outside the building towards some bushes.
So now we have Anadi feeling drawn toward a building with serpent-folk squatters, I have no idea what it means, but it can’t be something good.
