The Mask(ing)! And the regatta!

The Regatta!

I was asked to join the boat team of Haibram Mariama, and Rib for theRegatta.
The regatta is for all the city, and they need to build an boat and race each other.
Or the other option to win is to make the most crowd pleasing boat and/or race.

So we went for the fastest boat from the university
Step 1: craft the fastest boat with the best material and equiupment
step 2 find a good starting spot
step 3 start lightning fast!
And then it is racing time! Peddle like our life depends on it!

So we did and we beat the others! Atleast on speed! They were the better crowd pleasers so i called it a draw but not everybody agrees with me...

There was an incident in the warehouse district that felt like a unlucky coincidence. There was an explosion and falling debris but we luckily could avoid that with not to much damage.

But this was all an distraction for the next midterms! Which i barely made, so no progress there but also no decline.
I did make some progress on my project which i call “chewing gum”TM. This can maybe help us when we are in a pinch in a battle.

BUT THE BEST PART!

THE MASKING CEREMONY!

In the big hall we were called forward the make our masks!
Some forshadowing though Rib smelled something strange and Miira heared skittering.

First i was completly stressed with what i wanted to make, but after some breathing excirsises i came in some kind of meditative state. Like my hands moved on their own.
I started with a kind of redbrown wood and carved this in kind of wasp like mask.
The mask even has antennae and mandibels.
But i was not finished i made 2 slots from left to right on the mask and filled it with yellow wood.
After this the mask was done! The Brown Hornet! Not really a wasp but still akin to it. More deadly and then a wasp but friendly until threatened.

Just as we finished hell broke loose! Bugs bursted out of the walls and attacked!
My next test for my new tactic of hit and run! And they payed of like a charm!
I myself didnt got hit too much, and i even could help my cohort members!
I even managed to kill (steal) 2 of the bugs.

This was a good semester! I cant wait for the next one!
